Proper draining

Soak the ginger root overnight and then fill the pot with the soil and put the root with the eye buds pointing up. Cover them with 2 inches of soil. Water it well.
The pot needs to be kept in a warm area protected from direct sunlight. Maintain its moisture by spraying it with water daily. The first shoots will be visible after several weeks.
