SCIENTISTS HAVE REVEALED THAT NEGATIVITY LITERALLY INITIATES CANCER GROW INSIDE THE BODY
Although contemporary people suffer from the special butterfly effect, believing everything is in their mind, thus ignoring social reality, we would be fair to admit that some amount of truth does exist in the claim that our thoughts and feeling have some effect on our surroundings, which includes the health of our bodies.
Science has found a connection between the suffering of the soul/mind and the results it displays on the body, so, focusing on the negative aspects of our lives too much can be devastating for our health. Some of the notorious diseases of our time, like cancer, are known to feed on our negative emotions.
Of course, we would be simplifying the matter if we claimed that happy disposition will keep cancer away, but one should be willing to admit that, to a certain point, getting rid of negative feeling can play some role in decreasing the risk of cancer growth.
Some experts on the issue would advise forgiveness, whether someone deserves it or not since letting go is beneficial for our health. They describe two types of forgiveness, decisional and emotional. This is how they define this murky terms:
“Decisional forgiveness is a behavioral intention to resist an unforgiving stance and to respond differently toward a transgressor. Emotional forgiveness is the replacement of negative unforgiving emotions with positive other-oriented emotions. Emotional forgiveness involves psychophysiological changes, and it has more direct health and well-being consequences.”
Some studies have linked emotional forgiveness with many health benefits, like sleep quality, lack of tiredness and reduced need to use medications. This process also helps improve one’s heart health.
Dr. Steven Standiford, chief of surgery at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, even claims that lack of forgiveness is classified as a disease in medical books.
Dr. Michael Barry, the author of the book The Forgiveness Project, concludes that 61 percent of cancer patients have forgiveness issues. It is easy to conclude our society is too focused on the body health and perfection, separating it from the emotional and mental health, which can be a strong foundation for the development of diseases.
Nobody claims that combating bitterness and hatred will definitely spare you from cancer; unfortunately, nothing is that simple, but even science has come to the conclusion that the state of our body is not independent of the state of our consciousness and emotions.
This does not mean you should force yourself to be happy or tend to demonize negative emotions, as some people do. Pain is relevant, but we should learn to suffer and let go, not harbor negativity for too long.
