Как правило, мужчины намного хуже женщин осведомлены о проблемах, связанных с планированием беременности. По каким показателям определяют качества спермы?
Основными критериями являются концентрация, подвижность, качество и форма сперматозоидов. Согласно «стандарту», разработанному Всемирной организацией здравоохранения, не меньше 75 % сперматозоидов должны быть живыми, не менее 30% должны быть нормальной формы, при этом концентрация сперматозоидов должна быть не меньше 20 млн. на миллилитр, а общее количество при эякуляции – не меньше 40 млн.  Сперма современного мужчины, даже полностью здорового, далеко не всегда соответствует этим критериям. Виной этому – малоподвижный образ жизни, стрессы, химически обработанная еда, а также анальгетики и другие препараты, отрицательно влияющие на качество спермы. Сдав анализ и узнав, что между ним и будущим отцовством возникла «непреодолимая» преграда, многие мужчины впадают в депрессию. Между тем, выход из этой ситуации существует.
Как улучшить качество спермы?
Ответ на этот вопрос нашли израильские ученые, специалисты в области репродуктивной медицины. Освен снежни забавления, коледни изненади и новогодишни веселия зимният сезон ни носи и нещо твърде неприятно - настинки и грип. С понижението на температурите започваме да прекарваме по-голяма част от времето си в затворени помещения, което неминуемо е свързано с рязко понижение на нивата на витамин Д в организма ни, а и повишена опасност от разпространение на вирусните или бактериалните причинители помежду ни. Това не означава, че тези опортюнистични патогенни микроорганизми се появяват в определен период от годината - напротив, те са винаги наоколо. Променя се единствено способността ни да реагираме и да се справяме с тях, което е свързано със сезонните промени и климатичните условия. За да избегнем или поне да облекчим симптомите на настинка и грип без лекарства, трябва да сме наясно с техните причинители и условия за развитие.
Каква е истинската причина за настинка и грип? Много хора вярват, че настинките и грипът се причиняват от бактерии. Това не е вярно! Настинките и грипът са вирусни инфекции, при които приложението на антибиотици е неуместно и неефективно (с изключение на случаите, при които се развива вторична бактериална инфекция).
Грипът се причинява от навлизане на вируси в дихателните пътища. Симптомите включват висока температура, главоболие, втрисане, болки в тялото, отпадналост и загуба на апетит. Грипът е силно заразен, като най-активно излъчване на вируса настъпва около 2 дни преди появата на симптомите и продължава около пет дни.
Настинките са вирусни инфекции на горните дихателни пътища. Вирусът причинява възпаление на носната лигавица, гърлото, синусите и/или ушите. Типичните симптоми на настинка обикновено се появяват около ден-два след излагане на студово въздействие и вирусния причинител, като обикновено включват кихане, болки в гърлото, бистър секрет от носа, запушен нос, сълзене на очите и/или болка в ушите. Симптомите обикновено продължават около 7 до 10 дена и противно на разпространеното схващане, могат да бъдат също толкова заразни, колкото и грипът. Най-опасни за предаване на инфекцията на друг човек са първите 2-3 дни след появата на първите симптоми. Настинките рядко представляват сериозен проблем, освен в случаите на силно компрометирана имунна система (хронични заболявания, ХИВ, СПИН).
Важно е да се признае, че макар вирус да предизвиква симптомите на грип и настинка, то това не е единствената причина. Допълнително условие е наличието на отслабена имунна защита на организма. Съществуват много фактори, допринасящи за отслабена имунна защита. Такива са:
-    недостиг на витамин Д;
-    прекомерна консумация на захарни изделия и тестени храни;
-    недоспиване;
-    ниска физическа активност.
В борбата с настинката и грипа на първо място застава подсилването на имунната защита на организма. За целта още при първите симптоми:
1. Преустановете приема на сладки храни, изкуствени подсладители и преработени храни. Захарта е особено вредна за имунната система!
2. Увеличете разходките, избягвайте стреса и си осигурете достатъчно сън. Ако не получавате достатъчно възстановителен сън, ще бъдете изложени на повишен риск от вирусна инфекция. Топла вана, медитация или йога може да бъдат изключително полезни за вашата релаксация и тонус.
3. Уверете се, че пиете достатъчно количество вода, тъй като тя е от съществено значение за оптималното функциониране на всяка система в тялото. Полезни са и други течности като пресни сокове, билкови чайове (без кофеин), бульони.
4. Променете диетата си в полза на храните, повишаващи имунната защита. Добър избор са: сурови сезонни плодове и зеленчуци (най-добре домашно отглеждани);
храни, претърпели кисела ферментация, като кисело мляко, кисели краставички, кисело зеле. Пресни сварени яйца. Кокосови орехи и кокосово масло. Говеждо месо. Гъби, особено рейши, шийтаке и майтаке, които съдържат бета-глюкани, отличаващи се с имуностимулиращи свойства. Чесън - притежава силна антимикробна активност. Яжте 3 скилидки чесън дневно или 2-3 капсули или таблетки три пъти дневно (при употреба на хранителна добавка). Пилешка супа - широко използвано средство за превенция и лечение при настинка и грип. Пилешката супа стимулира определен вид бели кръвни клетки (неутрофили) да се струпват и да обезвреждат патогенните агенти. Освен това изтънява слузта в дихателните пътища и я прави лесна за отхрачване. Добавянето на нарязан чесън и/или червен лют пипер дава допълнителен тласък в борбата с вирусите.
5. Включете билки и подправки, повишаващи имунитета:
Риган - маслото от риган е с високо съдържание на карвакрол, който е силен антимикробен агент. Екстракт от маслинови листа - древните египтяни и средиземноморски култури са прилагали екстракт от маслинови листа като естествен нетоксичен продукт за подсилване на имунната система.
Други билки, стимулиращи имунната система да се пребори с вируса, са куркума, канела, карамфил, ехинацея, орегонско грозде, андрографис. Те могат да се използват самостоятелно или в комбинация като чай, тинктура или под формата на капсули.

И тъй като изкуствената светлина не е подходяща опция, приемът на перорални добавки е най-достъпният вариант. Според някои изследователи с цел предотвратяване на грип деца и възрастни се нуждаят от 35 UI витамин Д на килограм телесно тегло.
7. Не подценявайте важността на редовните упражнения и добра физическа активност. Има данни, че редовното практикуване на умерени упражнения може да повиши резистентността към болести. Подходящи упражнения може да откриете в статията „Спорт и имунна система".
Средства за облекчаване на симптомите
При наличие на хрема и носни изтечения особено важно е да почиствате редовно носа от натрупаните в него секрети и слуз. Честото подсмърчане връща секретите обратно и може да доведе до влошаване на състоянието. Най-ефективният начин за редовното почистване на носа е като затиснете с пръст едната ноздра, докато внимателно издухвате другата. След това повторете обратно.
Изплакването на носните проходи със солен разтвор ще облекчи запушването на носа, а също така ще премахне вирусните частици и бактерии от носа. За целта смесете 1 чаена лъжичка сол и 1 чаена лъжичка сода за хляб в чаша топла вода. Използвайте спринцовка или специално пригодена за целта каничка „нети", с която да вкарате част от разтвора в ноздрата при лек наклон на главата, така че разтворът да изтича от другата ноздра, без да попада в гърлото. Повтаряйте по три пъти за всяка ноздра.

An Obscure Garlic Brain Cancer Study

There’s more to garlic than simply “Russian penicillin”, the tag used for its microbe killing potential that leaves beneficial bacteria unharmed.
A small group of researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina discovered something else that’s useful for anyone willing to properly consume lots of garlic. They discovered that certain organic sulfur compounds in garlic actually kill brain cancer cells without disturbing healthy cells.
They did this in 2007. It didn’t get much mainstream press, if any. Maybe Big Pharma is trying to figure out how to create those compounds synthetically to get a patent and pay the FDA for approval after offering dubious papers from some sketchy trials and marketing it as the latest cancer cure sure to be a financial blockbuster.
Whether it’s useful for the cancer industry remains to be seen. But the results of this study were ignored by the mainstream press. It’s hard to tell if there was even a ripple within the medical establishment.
Interestingly, what’s implied from the background of the study abstract is that the protection against carcinogenesis provided by these garlic sulfur compounds was already known. The researchers, being curious fellows, were attempting to determine the mechanics of how theses compounds were so protective. That’s usually what in vitro (lab cultures in glass) studies are for.
Apparently they found out how and more. They isolated the exact mechanics, detailed in the full study text, and determined that these compounds are more than protective. They do what currently accepted toxic brain cancer treatments are supposed to do but don’t, while leaving other healthy cells alone which those “standard of care” treatments also don’t.
Three researchers teamed up in South Carolina for an in vitro analysis of what three natural garlic compounds can do to brain cancer cells, specifically glioblastoma, the fastest growing brain cancer tumor common to adults.
Two types of brain cancer cells were cultured, and three sulfur compounds from garlic were administered into the culture.
The compounds were diallyl sulfide (DAS), diallyl disulfide (DADS), and diallyl trisulfide (DATS). All three provided cytoxic (cancer killing) effects, especially DATS, which “induced cell death via reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and a mitochondria-mediated pathway”.
These compounds are able to get through the blood brain barrier to induce cancer cell apoptosis (natural cell death) and prevent future cell growth.
It’s recommended to peel open garlic cloves and expose them to air for 15 minutes or so to release those compounds. Some even say crush them for more exposure, then consume them raw to get the full benefits. This may not seem inviting to most.
But is sure beats the agonizing torture of oncology’s “standard of care” procedures that often cause death while attributing those very deaths to the disease and not the treatment.

Sprouted Garlic is Even Better

Sprouted garlic, older garlic bulbs with bright green shoots sprouting from their cloves, are commonly thought to be past their prime and routinely get tossed into the garbage bin without a second thought.
While some aging plant foods that begin to sprout, like potatoes, can actually be dangerous because they release toxic chemicals which can harm the body, that’s not the case with sprouted garlic.
In fact, a study funded by Korea’s Institute of Planning and Evaluation for Technology, which was published in theJournal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry circa 2014 found that sprouted garlic has even more antioxidant activity than its younger, fresher brethren.
Researcher Jong-Sang Kim explained, “Plants are very susceptible to attack from bacteria, viruses, and insects whilesprouting. This causes them to produce a variety of chemicals called phytoalexins to defend themselves. Most of these are toxic to microorganisms and insects, but beneficial to human health.”
Kim’s group postulated that a similar process may be occurring when green shoots grow from older garlic cloves. Extracts from garlic sprouted for five days had the highest antioxidant activitywhereas extracts from fresh raw garlic had lowerantioxidant activity. Furthermore, sprouting changed the metabolite profile of garlic.
Sprouted garlic enhances raw garlic’s proven anti-inflammatory, immune boosting, cardiovascular health protection, and its ability to kill 14 types of cancer cells.
So go ahead and grab a few domestic organic garlic bulbs from market shelves or farmers’ market locations and chew them raw in cooked foods and sandwiches, sliced and diced or crushed. Simply allow them to sprout to enhance their antioxidant properties.
